Summary: To champion a quality philosophy throughout the organization by providing quality control and assurance functions that ensures products conform to engineering specifications and meet customer requirements by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supports the Quality Management System in accordance with the latest ISO 9001 standard (currently 9001:2015).
Utilizes the Automotive Industry Action Group Core Quality Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA) where applicable to meet customer quality expectations.
Develops, maintains and reports quality metrics of product conformance to engineering and customer specifications, through inspection of raw materials, works in process and finished goods inventory.
Coordinates calibration and service of measurement tools and instruments.
Determines validity of customer non-conformance complaints via customer contact, interpretation of specifications and/or inspection of returned goods.
Creates and implements supplier evaluation program to improve quality and achieve organizational goals.
Establishes and maintains good customer relations with customer quality management personnel, traveling to customer locations when required.
Leads internal audit activity to compliance with the quality management System.
Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations, leading safety initiatives when appropriate.
Participates in additional activities contributing to the overall goals of the company as the opportunities arise.

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A. A. / A. S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in quality, engineering or other manufacturing field with emphasis on quality control; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior engineering or manufacturing experience
Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control disciplines
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
Knowledge of industry quality standards including ISO 9001:2015; Automotive Industry Action Group Quality Tools
Strong mechanical aptitude and technical comprehension
Technical communication (oral and written)
Interpersonal relationship skills (ability to work in team environment)
