The District is seeking applications for an Engineering Intern. The ideal candidate will be a college student pursuing a degree in civil/environmental engineering or a recent graduate (within past six months.)
The candidate must have working knowledge of engineering principles as well as the ability to interpret construction drawings, analyze a variety of data using Microsoft Excel and write reports and communicate clearly.
The engineering intern will perform a variety of project duties related to: - Review construction drawings and extract key information to facilitate archival and retrieval of drawings; - Calculate material quantities based on construction drawings and research mechanical equipment and construction costs;
Hours of work are flexible, between 30 and 40 hours per week, and occur Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Assignment is scheduled to begin as soon as possible and is scheduled to end no later than August 31, 2018, and not to exceed 1000 hours worked.
Position is open until filled, however the first review of applications will occur on Monday, June 11, 2018.
Candidates must be a college student enrolled in an ABET-approved school pursuing a degree in civil or environmental engineering; or have graduated in the last six (6) months and are seeking to gain practical work experience.

DSRSD distributes drinking water for approximately 84,000 people, in Dublin since March 1961 and in Dougherty Valley since May 2000.
DSRSD provides wastewater collection and treatment for approximately 154,000 people in Dublin and southern San Ramon since March 1961, and wastewater treatment for Pleasanton (by contract) since September 1965.
DSRSD has produced recycled water for landscape irrigation and construction since 1999. In 2006, DSRSD and East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) formed the San Ramon Valley Recycled Water Program (SRVRWP). The program serves DSRSD, EBMUD, and Pleasanton irrigation customers at 558 locations.
