A technical design role, focusing on 3D CAD product, concept & tooling design. This will be successfully accomplished by fully understanding, accurately specifying, & adhering to customer & sales force requirements. The position will entail a variety of tasks in the product development and production processes.
Provide 2D/3D CAD product & tooling drawings for internal and external use.
Ensure all CAD drawings are correctly toleranced, managed and backed up according to procedure.
Coordination of programming, production & assembly of 3D printed designs and conceptual models, for both internal & external use
Provide all costs and lead times when requested for concept samples, sample and production tooling.
Possess full competency for operation of precision measuring instruments & perform all new tool approvals.
Liaise with the Project Engineer and complete any request they may have (tooling modifications, drawings updates, etc.).
Facilitate design review meetings to discuss concepts & proposed product designs, engaging other necessary functional departments of the business with an end goal of gaining input regarding product manufacturability.
Support efforts to maintain and follow the product development process & procedures
Co-Lead innovation and product sampling within the factory.
Support customers in development of production line components to properly utilize Greiner Packaging product.
Attend quality review and OPS meetings as needed.
Assist Quality control department in development of go/no-go gauges & product tolerance forms.
When requested improve existing product designs and/or tooling.
Assist internal maintenance team & tool shop in development of machine component CAD drawings.
Possess the ability to generate G-Code for CNC application when needed.
Assist project & sales team as needed.
Liaise with the Process Technicians on concept, sample and production requirements.
Ensure all new product & conceptual designs are manufacturable & no complications will occur throughout the product lifecycle.
Aid in the selection of plastic materials based on product design & manufacturing process selection.
Continually update all Work in progress within the NPD Database for various report distribution.
All other assigned duties based on business requirements.
Provide estimate time required to complete CAD designs based on requirements for project deliverables.
Be willing to work on special projects as assigned such as factory layout adjustments & machinery position markings.
