Wood is seeking a Radiological Final Status Survey (FSS) Supervisor to plan, direct and implement Final Status Surveys (FSS) for radioactive material to release radiologically impacted areas (e.g. land areas, buildings, etc.) from radiological controls. Supervise personnel performing FSSs, oversee the collection of FSS data, and ensure that FSSs are executed in compliance with approved plans and procedures. Evaluate and interpret data. Control and assess data quality and maintain data integrity. Prepare FSS reports documenting the collection, quality assessment, data evaluation, and compliance conclusions derived from the FSS data collected. Effectively communicate with customer and regulatory personnel in the field and in meetings. This is a full time position at the Luckey FUSRAP project site near Toledo, OH.
Key Responsibilities •Write plans to perform statistics-based radiological FSSs implementing the guidance contained in the Multi-Agency Radiation Survey and Site Investigation Manual (MARSSIM) and other relevant and appropriate methodologies as the need arises •Perform, and supervise personnel in the performance of, FSSs •Supervise one or more field personnel •Securely manage, analyze, and interpret various sensitive data streams •Use specialized equipment to collect & manage data and prepare analyses & reports •Maintain logs of field activities •Effectively communicate with clients, regulators, field technicians, and equipment operators •Set up, maintain, and calibrate equipment
Skills / Qualifications •Minimum of 2 years environmental field work or other directly relevant experience •AS or BS degree desired, or equivalent in experience and education •Documented knowledge and experience writing and implementing FSS plans using the guidance in the MARSSIM •Understanding of the statistical bases underpinning the MARSSIM. •Strong knowledge of computer operations, software communications protocols, and computer networking •Experience on sites undergoing remediation due to the presence of radioactive materials •Computer proficiency to include Windows OS and MS Office, especially MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Word •Understanding of applicable scientific methods and technical methodologies •Ability to understand procedural manuals and execute work orders •Ability to write and prepare reports and documentation •Ability to follow instructions with attention to detail •Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a wide range of audiences •Ability to work independently and with a team •Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, in challenging weather conditions •Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds •Must pass drug test, physical, background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy
