About the Team Our 19-person, tight-knit staff is dedicated to making our community a better place through our passion for transportation planning and engineering. Our office is located in the heart of Downtown Seattle with views of Mt. Rainier and Lake Washington. About the Role Entry-level engineers and planners are exposed to a wide variety of projects, including:
Transportation impact studies
Access, circulation and parking studies
Smart growth evaluations
Transit forecasting and operations studies
Analyses of transportation and greenhouse gas emissions
Streetscape evaluations and design
Traffic safety studies
Highway interchange/corridor studies
Climate/sustainability action plans
New hires perform a wide variety of tasks, including:
Transportation analysis using the latest traffic engineering and planning software
Design opportunities, including design of traffic signals, bicycle lanes and paths, streetscape and lighting
Meeting participation, including preparation of presentations and public outreach material
On-the-job training and mentoring
Participation in professional organizations
About You Engineers/planners must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in transportation, civil, or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or a related major. Desirable work experience includes exposure to field work, traffic operations analysis (e.g., HCS, Synchro, VISSIM), signal design, transportation planning (e.g., bicycle or transit plans, infrastructure finance, transportation and land use policy), and travel demand modeling (e.g., Cube/Voyager, TransCAD, EMME). GIS experience is desirable. Candidates should have excellent technical writing and public speaking skills, and an EIT for engineering candidates is highly desirable.
